Dive In festival registration opens

Registration for the insurance industry’s 2023 global diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) festival is now open, with more than 130 events in 35 countries on offer.

Taking place on September 26-28, the Dive In festival expects to attract over 24,000 participants – with many events in a virtual format.

There are more than 20 events scheduled in Australia and New Zealand.

"Powerful topics around artificial intelligence, disability confidence, the trans experience, and events particularly targeted towards the c-suite demonstrate our commitment to addressing the most pressing issues in fostering inclusion in the insurance industry,” Sompo International Holdings General Counsel and Secretary Windy Lawrence said.

For the first time, Dive In will offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited events through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), allowing attendees to fulfil annual continuing education hours.

"The CPD accreditation of all Dive In events this year underscores the quality of our content and is recognition of the global impact the festival has had in changing the culture of the industry,” Marsh McLennan media director Jason Groves, who is Dive In Festival Chair, said.

The 2023 festival theme is Unlocking Innovation: The Power of Inclusion. Rhiannon Adam, the first openly queer person to travel to space, and quadruple amputee mountaineer Jamie Andrew are among confirmed speakers.

The award-winning Dive In Festival was conceived nine years ago by Inclusion@Lloyd’s – a collaboration between the Corporation of Lloyd’s, International Underwriting Association, London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association and the Lloyd’s Market Association.

It aims to drive change for greater inclusivity and to promote innovation to address global challenges such as natural catastrophes, the net-zero transition, and supply chain and cyber risks.

“Inclusive cultures will move the corporate industry forward and drive innovation that will solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. Unlocking innovation demands a culture where diverse perspectives are not just valued but used as a competitive advantage,” Dive In says.

Partners include AIG, Allied World, Aon, Arch, Aviva, Axa, BMS, Chubb, CNA, DLA Piper, Everest, Gallagher, Howden, Kennedys, Lloyd’s, Liberty Mutual, Markel, Marsh McLennan, Moody’s, Munich RE, RenaissanceRe, RMS, Scor, Sompo, Tokio Marine Kiln, Travelers, and WTW.

“We invite leaders, professionals, and allies to collaborate with us in championing talent, ensuring equity, and building a future that truly represents the diverse and unique needs of all,” Moody’s Chief Inclusion Officer Francisco Martinez-Garcia said.

Events will be aired after the festival on the Dive In YouTube channel, and attendees are encouraged to take part in Dive In's #WorkYourWay social media campaign.
