Chubb names new NZ president

Chubb has named David Morrow as New Zealand Country President, succeeding Andrew Brooks who left the company last month.

Mr Morrow, who has been with the insurer for 15 years and most recently served as New Zealand property and casualty head, will be responsible for general insurance operations, including commercial, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident.

He will also oversee Chubb’s underwriting and business development, reporting to Country President for Australia and New Zealand Peter Kelaher.

Mr Morrow has held several key leadership positions across the company’s Asia and Pacific operations. He was appointed to the executive team in 2022 after taking the New Zealand property and casualty lead role.

His latest appointment follows Mr Brooks’ departure after nine years in the role.

“I learned from mistakes, accentuated the positive and helped create a business that I would want to work in,” Mr Brooks wrote in a LinkedIn post. “For me, leaving it in a better place than it was when I started – which includes a positive and growth-minded culture and seeing the next generation thrive – were really important to me.”

Mr Brooks has begun a six-month contract as National Partnerships and Development Manager at Insurance Advisernet New Zealand.
