CHU launches strata inspection service
Steadfast-owned strata specialist CHU has unveiled a new building inspection serviced aimed at the strata industry, where it is one of the major insurance providers.
CHU Inspect offers a virtual way to inspect and report on strata buildings, utilising technology that allows detailed asset and building inspections to be completed in a fraction of the time, with “exceptional accuracy, clarity and safety,” the business says.
“The combination of AI technology and drone capabilities enhances the identification of faults that can be picked up early to prevent costly mistakes or claims.”
The new service is offered by CHU Services, which encompasses CHU Assess and CHU Consult.
“What excites me the most about CHU Inspect is the positive environmental impact in addition to saving time and money from multiple stakeholders having to attend the site to gather the same information,” CHU Services GM Chris Frazer said.
He says the data generated by the virtual inspection will aid surveyors, engineers, loss adjusters and building maintenance and repair teams as it means “less time travelling to and from sites and more time utilising their expertise in making informed decisions”.
“This will prove especially useful post catastrophes when access to sites may be difficult and dangerous,” he said.
Andrew Bond, who joined CHU Services last month, will head up CHU Inspect. He has over 10 years’ experience in the building and construction industry.
