Axa XL says Julie Morgan has joined as head of claims in Australia, taking over from Julijana Sumner who was recently appointed chief claims officer for Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Ms Morgan, who took up the role on Monday, will have oversight of claims activity across all lines of business for Australia.

She was most recently Zurich’s head of technical and complex claims for the Australian and New Zealand markets. She has worked across all general insurance lines for more than six years, and before that specialised in financial lines and casualty.

“Julie brings both a depth of experience and a fresh perspective to Axa XL,” country leader Catherine Carlyon said.

Ms Sumner says the Australian claims team will go from “strength to strength” under Ms Morgan.
