Paul Grasso has been promoted to the role of Head of Treaty in Australia and New Zealand for Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business.

Sydney-based Mr Grasso has spent 15 years at Aon, most recently more than five years as Head of Property – a role a spokesman for the broker tells insuranceNEWS.com.au he is likely to retain. He was also formerly treaty underwriter at Hannover Re.

“Bringing proven expertise to the role, Paul will support clients to optimise their capital as the reinsurance market finds itself on a more sustainable footing,” Aon said today.

John Carroll, who formerly held the local Head of Treaty position, was appointed Reinsurance Solutions CEO Australia and New Zealand in November amid key leadership changes after Jeremy Goodman became UK President of Reinsurance Solutions, moving from Singapore to London.

Mr Carroll, who also joined the APAC Executive Committee, took over from Robert De Souza, who became APAC Reinsurance Solutions President. Both report to Reinsurance Solutions CEO APAC George Attard.

Aon’s reinsurance solutions include risk transfer, claims advocacy and capital management.
