Professional services firm Aon has named Jeff Plein as its new Asia Pacific COO, succeeding Bill Hooper, who has been promoted to Global COO of Commercial Risk Solutions.

As part of the role, Mr Plein will work with the company’s regional and global teams to deliver a “differentiated client experience” to its Asia Pacific customers. 

He has also been appointed to the group’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee and the Aon Business Services Global Leadership Team.

Mr Plein joins Aon from Citibank, where he served as its MD, Asia Pacific Head, Securities Services Operations. He has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the Asia Pacific region, including roles at Fullerton Fund Management and BlackRock. 

“With his extensive experience in investment management, banking and the broader financial services sector, Jeff will bring strong insights that will help our firm continue to deliver innovative solutions as we help our clients to be better informed and better advised,” Aon Global COO Mindy Simon said.

Mr Plein will be based in Singapore for the role, reporting to Ms Simon and Asia Pacific CEO Anne Corona.
