Allianz plans Sydney memorial service for Donna Walker
Allianz will hold a special memorial service on Monday for Chief Technical Officer Donna Walker, who died while holidaying in East Africa earlier this month.
The event will take place in the Hyatt Regency Sydney’s Maritime Ballroom, from 2.30pm, with the service starting at 3pm.
“Donna was a really special person and much loved,” an Allianz spokeswoman said.
“Inspired by Donna’s love of the Collingwood Football Club, and her bright and bubbly nature, we are inviting people to dress in ‘black and white with a splash of colour’ on the day.”
Those wishing to attend can register here.
Ms Walker died suddenly while exploring the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania with her husband James, just days after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tributes have flowed for the inspiring industry leader, who was Chairman of the Women in Allianz network, a high-profile advocate for the advancement of women in insurance and a regular speaker at industry events and conferences.
She was on the board of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Prior to joining Allianz, Ms Walker held a variety of senior roles during 17 years at CGU and parent company IAG. Her funeral in Melbourne last week included eulogies from Allianz MD Richard Feledy and IAG MD Peter Harmer.
