Allianz Deputy MD set to depart
Allianz Australia says Deputy MD Helen Silver is finishing her tenure on Thursday after eight years with the insurer.
Ms Silver joined the insurer in 2013 as Chief GM Workers’ Compensation and rose up the ranks, according to her LinkedIn account.
Before Allianz, she was secretary to the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria. She has also held senior positions in the Victorian WorkCover Authority from 1999 to 2003.
“Over the past eight years, [her] strategic mindset and industry insight have contributed an enormous amount to our business, both in her current position as Deputy MD, and previous role heading up our Workers’ Compensation Division,” Allianz Australia announced on its LinkedIn account.
“[She] has also played a leading role in promoting and advocating for gender equality and diversity both within Allianz and in the community.”
Allianz says Ms Silver was the first female member to join its senior management team, paving the way for female representation in senior leadership positions to grow to 47%.
A spokesman for the insurer says the business is now “actively recruiting” for the newly created position of General Manager, Office of the Managing Director, to lead the Office of the Managing Director.
