AIG hires former VP for regional agency role

AIG says former senior VP Gany Subramaniam, who left the insurer in 2019, has rejoined as head of agency and partnership distribution for the Asia-Pacific region.

“I’m delighted to welcome [him] back ... AIG has an incredible network of dedicated agents and significant partnerships in the region,” Asia-Pacific regional president Chris Colahan said on LinkedIn. “Gany’s deep industry expertise, pan-Asia experience and AIG knowledge will be invaluable in driving growth, and supporting our agents and partners to flourish.”

Mr Subramaniam was AIG’s senior VP of personal insurance in southeast Asia for more than two years until March 2019, when he left to become Allianz head of commercial sales in Asia-Pacific, according to his LinkedIn.

He spent 16 years at AIG, including as travel director for Asia-Pacific and head of consumer insurance for Malaysia and southeast Asia.
