AEI Insurance Group has acquired bus and coach industry specialist BusInsure as it strengthens its presence in the heavy motor sector.

“The acquisition of BusInsure represents a significant advancement in AEI’s mission to deliver industry-leading insurance solutions across Australia,” AEI executive chairman Tim Wedlock said.

“Combining BusInsure’s reputation and sector expertise with AEI’s resources will enhance our ability to meet the evolving needs of the heavy motor insurance market and reinforce our leadership in the industry.” 

AEI says the transaction takes effect from the start of December, and follows the acquisition of the AEI Canberra business. The company also operates from offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

BusInsure will continue to operate under its brand, with national manager Martin Roberts leading the team from its Parramatta office, while AEI’s network and resources will enable it to broaden its range.  

The specialist broker has been part of RIS Insurance Group, also a member of the Austbrokers network.
