NSW-based Abico Insurance Brokers has acquired Ausure authorised representatives (ARs) Professional Insurance Solutions Australia and Southside General Insurance.

The investments in the two businesses follow last year’s acquisition of Ausure Insurance Brokers Macarthur in Campbelltown, Western Sydney.

Professional Insurance Solutions Australia was previously owned by Jenny Sharman, who purchased the book in 2004 and Southside General Insurance was founded by Michael Samut.

“This was a great opportunity to work alongside Jenny and Michael who both separately and successfully built great businesses that align with our continuing growth strategy,” Abico MD David North said.

“The Abico team now consists of 21 staff across two offices. Abico’s Wollongong office will shortly be relocating to accommodate for the growth of the business and staff levels.”

Abico is an Ausure Corporate AR and has offices in Wollongong Park and Oran Park, NSW.

The business, part of the Steadfast network, has been operating since 1981 and offers business, construction, transport and earthmoving insurance solutions.
