360 appoints Mobile Plant and Equipment head
360 Underwriting Solutions has appointed Chris Quick as Head of Mobile Plant and Equipment following the recent retirement of Stephen Borg.
Mr Quick, who has a strong general insurance background and significant experience in acquisitions and change of ownership, will lead the Sura Mobile Plant and Equipment business. He joins from Dawes, a Steadfast-owned motor specialist underwriter.
“We are thrilled to have [him] join us, [and] while it's business as usual for our current Mobile Plant and Equipment broking partners, there is a lot happening behind the scenes as we work with our capacity to transition Sura Mobile Plant and Equipment into the 360 Group,” Director and co-founder Denis Morrissey said.
“We will draw on [Mr Quick] and his experience to guide the team and ensure that we continue to deliver solutions and service to our broking partners.”
AUB Group invested in 360 Underwriting Solutions in 2020 through a new General Commercial Underwriting subdivision that also brings in AUB agencies Fleetsure, Sura Hospitality, Sura Bus and Coach, and Sura Plant and Equipment.
AUB holds a majority stake in 360 Underwriting following the transaction, and the remaining equity is held by Mr Morrissey and co-founder Chris Lynch.
Mr Morrissey and Mr Lynch founded 360 Underwriting in 2017 after acquiring the $28 million gross written premium (GWP) Sura360 business from AUB. Areas including aviation, construction and engineering, and rural were later added to the business.
Last month AUB Group CEO Mike Emmett told a half-year earnings call that 360 “has exceeded our expectations which is very pleasing” and called the move to invest in the agency in 2020 an “excellent acquisition”.
