Zurich reveals Fogarty replacement

Nigel Whyatt is to succeed Daniel Fogarty as EGM Corporate at Zurich, following Mr Fogarty’s elevation to CEO earlier this year.

Mr Whyatt will start the new role next month after returning from Hong Kong, where he has been a member of the Zurich Global Corporate Asia-Pacific executive.

He has been with Zurich since 1988 and has a background in claims-based roles.

Mr Fogarty says Mr Whyatt, who began his career with Zurich in Australia before working across a range of business areas at a regional level, will be an excellent addition to the local team.

“I’m confident Nigel’s experience will serve us well as we continue to expand delivery of Zurich’s global capabilities in Australia,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Nigel’s appointment highlights the importance Zurich places on a strong succession plan and utilising existing knowledge and experience for the benefit of customers and brokers.”

Mr Fogarty says two other national appointments also highlight the strength of Zurich’s internal talent.

Former Victorian Motor Manager Khoder Chehade has been promoted to Head of Motor. And in addition to leading Zurich’s motoring business in WA, Gavin Hart has been appointed National Mining & Construction Manager – Motor.
