Zurich expands to NT
Zurich Financial Services Australia has expanded into the Northern Territory, the final jurisdiction in its national coverage.
The insurer will initially focus on mid-market business – motor fleet and small and medium-sized enterprise package insurance. The aim is to capitalise on the growth in small business in the NT.
GM General Insurance Anthony Day says the expansion into the NT is another growth initiative to increase market share in the national insurance sector. He says it makes sense for Zurich to extend its reach to the NT, as it already has extensive relationships with brokers everywhere else.
“Darwin and the NT are experiencing good economic growth, and it’s increasingly becoming a gateway to Asia, making the timing for Zurich’s entry there ideal.”
