Standard & Poor’s has lowered its insurer financial strength and counterparty credit ratings on Zurich Australia from A+ to A, and in a move that has negative implications, has placed the company’s ratings on CreditWatch.

The ratings action followed the lowering of the long and short-term ratings on related entities of the parent company in Switzerland (see International News).
