Zurich appoints new manager to drive Z.stream upgrades

Zurich has hired former Suncorp Executive Manager GIO Personal Lines, Shaun Feely, to drive the latest upgrades to its online processing platform, Z.streamXpress.

Mr Feely has been appointed head of the SME and Packages Business to expand the offerings available through the Zurich platform.

Zurich GM General Insurance Shane Doyle says the commercial packages team will shortly launch a number of technology upgrades to the online platform.

“Mr Feely will manage the business through our improved systems and then develop the business to leverage the new systems and deliver the benefits in terms of package growth, profitability and business efficiencies,” Mr Doyle said.

“In addition to business packages, he will look to automating other products and services to increase the amount of fast-flow underwriting from our personal insurances, SME and some middle market offerings.”

The latest version of Z.streamXpress features the ability to attach notes to a quote, an ABN validation tool, connection to Google Maps, flexible excesses and a quote upload facility.

It also includes a “save as you go” function and the ability to print certificates of currency.

Zurich has also said it wants to add workers’ compensation and other business insurance lines to Z.streamXpress later this year and will look at offering marine online next year.

Mr Feely held a number of roles at Suncorp including Executive Manager SME and Commercial Motor and Executive Manager GIO Motor and Vero Personal Lines. He has also worked at NTI and AAMI.
