Stuart Farquharson has been named as the new CFO General Insurance at Zurich Financial Services.

The role has been vacant since Rajbir Nanra was promoted to CEO of Zurich General Insurance Australia and New Zealand in January.

Mr Farquharson joins Zurich from AIG, where he was the CFO for Australia, with regional responsibility for South Asia, greater China and Australasia.

Prior to moving to AIG more than six years ago he had held senior roles at Citibank Australia, Manchester Unity Australia and Hollard Insurance Australia.

Mr Farquharson will start at Zurich in Sydney on July 11.
