Youi Insurance has marked its first year in the Australian market by extending its car and home cover to WA, SA and Tasmania.

Spokesman Chris Overs says the insurer is now in a position to “support a truly national customer base”. However, the company does not intend to do business in the Northern Territory.

He says customers in Queensland, NSW, ACT and Victoria have responded well to the insurer’s “custom-built” approach, helping to build brand recognition.

The South African-owned company, which is based at Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, has recruited more than 150 full-time staff in the past six months with further recruitment likely.
