Winley liquidator searching for creditors

The liquidator handling the affairs of collapsed Perth authorised representative network Winley Insurance Group has asked creditors to get in touch.

As reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au last week (see earlier story), an initial report – compiled by former MD Jeff Bailey – listed all assets as zero and failed to provide a list of those owed money.

“This report, prepared by the director of the company, should provide details of all assets and all liabilities,” liquidator Neil Cribb of RSM Australia Partners, told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“However, it effectively has nothing on it. This is not ideal and not what is required.”

Mr Cribb says Mr Bailey, who operates Perth suburban business Sunset Coast Insurance Services, is proving difficult to contact, and slow progress is likely.

About $100,000 has been recovered from a bank account, but Mr Cribb warns the costs of his investigations would also need to be covered.

“It is early days, but at this stage it is most unlikely there will be a dividend to creditors.”

Mr Cribb says a report to creditors will be issued, but first he needs to identify them.

Creditors should notify RSM of any claim, sending the name of creditor, address and amount claimed to jessica.atherton@rsm.com.au.
