Willis Towers Watson hires Suncorp’s Matteson

Willis Towers Watson has hired Adam Matteson as Head of Richard Oliver Underwriting Managers, a Melbourne-based business it acquired in the mid-1990s.

He joins from Suncorp, where he has been National Portfolio Manager Commercial Property, Construction and Engineer for the past three years.

Mr Matteson has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, playing a key role in setting up Arch Underwriting and running Talbot Underwriting.

“[His] wealth of experience in building businesses, underwriting and in the reinsurance market will position [Richard Oliver Underwriting Managers] strongly for innovation and growth, in support of their clients throughout the industry,” Willis Tower Watson’s Head of Australasia Simon Weaver said.

Mr Matteson takes over the role held previously by David Bannerman, a spokesman from Willis Towers Watson told insuranceNEWS.com.au. His start date is not yet confirmed.

Richard Oliver Underwriting Managers offers solutions and services across a wide spectrum such as business product recall, contamination, life science/biotechnology and marine.
