Willis has bulked up its Queensland presence with the purchase of Brisbane-based broker Glencairn MacDermott.

The full acquisition of Glencairn MacDermott, whose clients work in power generation, education, meat and wool processing, mining, infrastructure and construction, comes nearly two years after Willis took a majority stake in the company following its acquisition of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs in October 2008.

Current Glencairn MacDermott CEO Paul MacDermott has been named Chairman of Willis Queensland. Willis says all staff will be retained under the acquisition.
