Whitbread moves staff out of Brisbane

Whitbread Insurance Brokers has withdrawn staff from Brisbane, but “remains committed” to serving the area.

Its two Brisbane-based employees left the business, and the decision was taken to move the positions to Melbourne.

“As a dynamic business we are continually reviewing our operations and revising our strategic direction,” CEO Stephen Jones told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

He says two business initiatives were launched recently. They are Resolute Property Protect, a premium insurance offering for strata managers; and Whitbread Corporate Partners, a strategic alliance with key corporate partners such as Engineers Australia.

These projects coincide with “a greater focus on productivity” across all areas.

“Over the past 12 months two administration positions and a business development role have become redundant in our Melbourne office, and we have moved from having two personnel on the ground in Brisbane to servicing this business from our head office.

“We are maintaining our Brisbane CBD office and we will continue to engage with our clients from this location. We are currently searching for broking staff to join our team as our new initiatives gain momentum.”
