Wesfarmers sells IT arm
Wesfarmers Insurance Division has agreed to sell its insurance IT systems venture Koukia to UK firm SSP.
SSP was appointed European distributor for Koukia in 2006 and now takes on the business outright. Wesfarmers acquired Koukia in 2003. SSP is a specialist IT provider to the insurance and financial services industries in 50 countries.
Wesfarmers Insurance Division spokesman Robert Swinton told insuranceNEWS.com.au the company wants to focus on its core general insurance and distribution business, and SSP was the “logical buyer” of Koukia. The deal was made for an undisclosed sum.
