Wesfarmers offloads liability specialist
Wesfarmers has sold Connect Liability Solutions to its founders Kevin Corkery and Glenn Eason for an undisclosed amount. The WA conglomerate acquired Connect as part of its acquisition of OAMPS last year.
Wesfarmers Insurance Communications Manager Robert Swinton says the company sold the specialist liability provider because it didn't fit with the division's core business. "It was the best outcome for both parties."
The deal comes only a few weeks after OAMPS announced the sale of its wholly owned subsidiary Universal Underwriting Agencies to QBE.
Mr Swinton told Sunrise Exchange News there is no link between the two events.
"When we acquired OAMPS these two businesses came on board, and we've taken the decision to offload them on an individual basis. It's not part of a divestment strategy."
