Wesfarmers eyes $1 billion profit on divestments

Wesfarmers expects to make a pre-tax profit of $1.035-$1.075 billion on the sale of its insurance underwriting and broking operations, according to a market update.

It has quit insurance with the sale of its underwriting operations to IAG for $1.845 billion and its broking and premium funding businesses to Arthur J Gallagher for $1.01 billion.
