Wesfarmers expands Coles insurance range
Wesfarmers Insurance has expanded its range of products being offered through Coles supermarkets by launching home and contents insurance.
The supermarket chain will offer buildings and contents insurance as a combined product as well as stand-alone versions.
Wesfarmers Insurance COO Corporate Partners Stuart Blake says the move is a result of the success of Coles’ recently launched motor insurance product.
“Our car insurance has been very successful, with many customers switching to us from the big incumbents,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“But people were also telling us they wanted to have their car and house insurance with one company.”
Mr Blake expects the take-up for home and contents insurance to be similar to the level of new motor insurance companies.
Coles will again be offering online discounts of 5% and Flybuys points to attract customers. It will also offer a 5% discount on home and contents insurance if customers take up both.
He says the new products have been designed to include additional areas of coverage as a point of difference and be simpler than those of competitors.
