W+K joins global law firm alliance

Sydney-based law firm Wotton + Kearney has joined forces with major insurance law firms in Germany, the UK and the US to “meet the legal needs of the growing multinational insurance market”.

Known as Legalign Global, the alliance brings together DAC Beachcroft (UK), BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr (Germany), Wilson Elser (US) and Wotton + Kearney.

It will have 2000 lawyers in 58 offices throughout the US, Europe, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Wotton + Kearney has more than 120 lawyers and operates from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

Chief Executive Partner David Kearney says globalisation has resulted in an increasing number of companies conducting business across jurisdictions.

“This has led to a demand for multinational insurance programs and high-quality, consistent legal representation,” he said.

“Unlike networks of loosely affiliated law firms, Legalign Global is a closely knit, integrated alliance with a codified global client service charter.”
