Vero managers in the minority
Suncorp’s new 10-person team of executive GMs overseeing its commercial insurance business includes only two managers from Vero.
Much like the new top-level management team assembled in March to run the integrated Promina operations, the line-up of EGMs is stacked with Suncorp managers. John Nagle and Denise Bofill are the only managers from the former Promina subsidiary to become EGMs.
Mr Nagle will head corporate customer development, while Ms Bofill has been appointed EGM for intermediated distribution.
An exodus of talent has already hit Vero. Former COO Darren Maher and EGM Brett Hawkins have already left the company.
In a letter to brokers last week, Suncorp Commercial Insurance Group Executive Mark Milliner said the new executive team was appointed after “much consideration and planning”.
“The structure reflects a product-centric business model with areas of focus around customer development, claims, and distribution,” he said.
“This allows us to leverage the strengths of the businesses we are bringing together. This is also reflected in the executive team, which includes a mix of the current leadership teams as well as three newly promoted managers from Suncorp and Vero.”
