Vero bolsters WA marine division

Vero National Marine has added three marine and transit insurance underwriters to its marine insurance operations in WA – and dealt another blow to Lumley by recruiting two of them from within its ranks. Vero poached Lumley’s NSW marine team last October.

The WA appointments include David Bamberger moving across from Associated Marine as Underwriting Manager, wife Cathy Bamberger joining up from Lumley as Underwriter, and Kevin Finch also making the move from Lumley as Senior Underwriter. They join the company’s current WA team comprising Ian Donald, Helen Hurba and Elaine Mahmood.

Vero says it has continued to attract skilled and experienced marine personnel over the past 12 months.

Vero National Marine GM John Nagle says the company has developed an attractive and compelling marine and transit proposition that continues to strengthen its position as a market leader.

Mr Nagle says the move is a big commitment to the WA market.

“As part of our national growth strategy we will continue to focus on delivering innovative, differentiated and knowledge-based solutions for trade and transportation risks across Australia,” he said.

“With a limited pool of marine underwriting and claims skills in the insurance market, the additional team allows Vero to offer leadership and expert knowledge for the marine industry.”
