Trident chooses a local partner
Perth-based Trident Insurance Group is now fully backed by QBE Insurance. MD Rick Wolozny says the move allows the company to expand its offerings, particularly in its pleasurecraft lines.
Trident operates separate insurance broking and underwriting agency divisions, and is now looking to expand beyond its Brisbane eastern states branch to Melbourne – the home of rival pleasurecraft insurance leaders Club Marine, Nautilus and Associated Marine.
Trident has used QBE for at least part of its financial backing for the past 10 years – with the remainder going to the Lloyd’s market. But Mr Wolozny says the new deal places all of its capital in Australia with a “well known, well regarded” provider.
