Allianz Australia and Sydney-based underwriting agency Global Transport and Automotive Insurance Solutions (GT) have joined forces in the transport, fleet and specialist equipment industry.

GT, which was formerly Global Motor Underwriting, will begin operating nationally from June 1. Allianz has taken equity in the new company.

GT MD Nick Zissis says the combined premium revenue will make GT a substantial operator in transport industry insurance.

Allianz GM Corporate Affairs Nicholas Scofield says GT aims to become a comprehensive one-stop service for intermediaries wanting insurance products such as motor, liability, marine and property.

“GT will also provide industry-leading claims and risk management services,” he said.
