Trade Me, Tower renew insurance partnership

Tower Insurance has extended its six-year partnership with Trade Me, New Zealand's largest online auction and classifieds website, for at least another five years.

The partnership offers insurance to Trade Me’s 1.7 million customers and will invest further in new products and digital services.

In coming months, Tower plans to add new pet and boat insurance products to the Trade Me offer for the 670,000 New Zealanders who visit the site every day.

“Our partnership with Trade Me makes it even easier for customers to insure their belongings all in one place at the click of a button,” Tower Insurance CEO Blair Turnbull said.

The pair first partnered to launch Trade Me Insurance in August 2015, which was then New Zealand’s only digital general insurance provider, offering home, contents and car cover.

There are now over 30,000 policies.

Tower also partners with TSB, The New Zealand Defence Force, Open, Amodo and Allianz.
