Tower appoints executives

New Zealand insurer Tower has appointed David Callanan to the newly created role of Chief Risk Officer.

He was most recently at RACQ Insurance, where he held the same position.

“David’s appointment comes at a time when Tower is keenly focused on transforming its approach to managing risk and building an efficient and effective governance model,” the insurer says.

Glenn Vade has been appointed CIO. His recent roles include head of technology for wealth admin systems at AMP.

Other appointments include Michelle James as GM Customer Acquisition and Retention, and Tony Antonucci as GM Product and Marketing.

Ms James was previously transformation director at Spark Digital, while Mr Antonucci joins from Brisbane-based insurer Auto & General.
