CGU Insurance has appointed Swann Insurance GM Stuart Chapman as its new CFO.

The role was created when CGU restructured its senior management team last month.

Mr Chapman, who will retain overall leadership of Swann, joined the company in 2001 when CGU acquired Fortis Australia.

CGU CEO Peter Harmer says Mr Chapman will be responsible for the insurer’s financial performance while ensuring greater accountability.

“This appointment recognises both his outstanding track record in financial management and his success at Swann in consistently delivering exceptional financial results,” Mr Harmer said.

Paul Ayton has been appointed Senior Executive Manager of Swann.
