Suncorp staff settle into flexible workspace

Employees at Suncorp’s new Sydney office can choose how and where they work, and have access to yoga spaces, stand-up desks and a lounge area.

The refurbished building in Shelley Street, Barangaroo, is equipped with laptops, allowing employees to select from various work zones, including quiet rooms, agile team spaces, open kitchens, event spaces and collaborative hubs with plenty of space and natural light.

“We wanted to create an environment where people feel inspired and where collaboration comes naturally each day,” Suncorp EGM Real Estate Colin Harris said.

“We’ve designed spaces with quiet areas where people can be alone or open spaces where they can work collaboratively. Our aspiration was to create a better today for all of our employees – one that goes beyond day-to-day tasks to providing spaces where people can innovate together and connect in new ways.”

Interior design group Geyer helped create the office. It was also responsible for Suncorp’s first concept store in Parramatta, for which it won gold at the Sydney Design Awards.
