Suncorp reveals its branding strategy
Suncorp has unveiled plans to merge its main commercial insurance brands under the Vero banner. Group Executive for Commercial Insurance Mark Milliner has informed brokers that the Suncorp brand will only operate in Queensland, and only for personal lines and workers' compensation insurance.
Vero will also maintain its branding for the personal lines it has available through Queensland intermediaries. But its workers' compensation products will combine with Suncorp's GIO businesses to operate under the GIO brand.
Vero spokesman Sue Repanellis says the changes reflect the needs and wants of brokers. This is particularly true in Suncorp's home state where there is "high brand value" in the Suncorp brand of commercial insurance.
She says the changes will take up to two years to fully implement, with IT synergies the first challenge to be addressed.
