Suncorp reshuffles personal lines pack

Suncorp has reshuffled the top tier of its executive ranks and moved to separate the Suncorp and GIO business units.

The restructure was announced last week by Suncorp Group Executive Personal Insurance Bernadette Inglis. It affects the management of Suncorp brands AAMI, GIO, Suncorp, Apia, Shannons and Just Car Insurance.

There are also several changes within Suncorp’s commercial operations.

EGM Corporate Affairs Rob Whelan told insuranceNEWS.com.au the restructure is intended to “split Suncorp and GIO into separate management entities and personnel”.

Former EGM for Intermediated Personal Insurance Daniel Fogarty will now take responsibility for Suncorp Insurance while John Rogers becomes EGM GIO Insurance.

EGM of Niche Market brands David Richards will leave Suncorp under the restructure. He will be replaced by Andrew Mulvogue, who was formerly EGM for Customer Development and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

The commercial portfolios vacated by Mr Rogers and Mr Mulvogue have now been combined and will be run by Natasha Fenech, who was formerly EGM of Commercial Insurance Strategy.

Underwriting functions in the commercial SME business and workers’ compensation functions will move into the distribution areas.

AAMI executive Simonne Economou will become EGM Sales and Service within the personal insurance division, while AAMI NSW GM Tricia Kelly becomes EGM Strategy and Business Development for personal lines.

AAMI EGM Anthony Durakovic and EGM Finance Harry Robertson have retained their positions.
