Suncorp passes halfway mark on Debbie claims
Suncorp has finalised more than half of its Cyclone Debbie-related claims, three months after the storm struck northern NSW and Queensland.
More than 9000 home claims have been finalised, either through repairs or cash settlements.
The insurer has so far received almost 19,000 claims from residents and businesses.
Suncorp Insurance CEO Anthony Day says claims are being processed faster than after cyclones Yasi in 2011 and Marcia in 2015.
“This demonstrates Suncorp’s scale and capacity to respond quickly to severe natural disasters, which helps our customers recover as soon as possible,” he said.
“We’ve had thousands of claims managers, assessors and trade suppliers on the ground supporting customers and helping impacted communities rebuild.”
