Suncorp-owned repairer buys NZ unit
Melbourne-based crash repairer Capital Smart, which is majority-owned by Suncorp, has acquired the East Auckland Body and Paint facility from Honda New Zealand for an undisclosed sum.
Capital Smart – the name stands for “small-medium accident repair technology” – will complete the purchase next month.
Capital Smart has more than 42 centres in Australia and New Zealand. It will have four centres in New Zealand once the acquisition from Honda is completed.
Founder and Group Operations Director Jim Vais says the acquisition will open up new business opportunities. Working with a major vehicle manufacturer is also a first for the repairer.
“It means there is international recognition for the best customer service, quality of repair work and the innovation within our operation,” he said.
“We are confident we can deliver an enhanced experience for all Honda customers.”
