Suncorp New Zealand has announced Suraiya Phillimore-Smith as its new Chief Customer Officer from March 4 next year.  

Ms Phillimore-Smith will hold responsibilities across the group’s partnerships, branding, marketing, communications, and government relations sectors.   

She has held previous senior marketing and communications roles at Vodafone and Sony and currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer for Westpac New Zealand.   

“We have an existing wealth of insurance experience and talent in the Customer team, so I was looking for something quite specific with this appointment – including experience in an intermediated business model, and confidence in the emerging sustainability regulatory requirements,” Suncorp New Zealand CEO Jimmy Higgins said. 

Ms Phillimore-Smith will take over from Strategic Broker Partnerships Executive Manager Paul Gallop, who has been acting in the role.
