SUA relaunches iConstruct online platform

Brisbane-based Specialist Underwriting Agencies (SUA) has relaunched iConstruct, its online underwriter for the SME construction industry.

SUA acquired the business in October before instigating a “much-needed revitalisation of the system and product”, according to SUA director John Iles.

Now iConstruct is again offering quote, bind and renew online for material damage and liability policies.

Its system has been moved under SUA’s domain, allowing brokers to access other SUA products without entering additional login details, and minor functionality issues have been addressed.

Axis Specialty Australia now provides security for material damage, while Liberty International Underwriters remains the security for legal liability.

iConstruct was previously owned by Sydney broker and online insurance innovator Guy Stening, who died last year. It was placed into voluntary administration before SUA stepped in.

Mr Iles says he is pleased to continue the business and brand created by Mr Stening. SUA faced a similar situation in 1999 when founder Frank Page died.

“The cover has been developed to better than market standards and our terms remain as competitive as always,” Mr Iles told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Coupled with the simplicity of placing business online, we fervently believe iConstruct will once again become the premier provider of online contract works for smaller operators.”
