The Steadfast IRS Sydney hub is seeking a new MD after Jonathan Upton announced his intention to retire.

Steadfast MD Robert Kelly says Mr Upton committed to the job while the hub was being put together and during Steadfast’s listing.

He will remain running businesses and “championing a range of crucial accounts”, Mr Kelly told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Upton is MD of Indemnity Corporation – a founding member of the Steadfast IRS hub established in 2013 with Wagland Salter and DMA Insurance Brokers.

The aim is for hubs to gain efficiencies through a standard outsourced back-office service.

A number of staff have departed Steadfast IRS, which was one of the first hubs and is the largest.

Mr Kelly says some retired and others left.

“It is part of bedding-down a new business when there are duplicate jobs,” he said.
