SSP adds another insurance IT system
Just weeks after snapping up insurance software company Koukia from Wesfarmers, global insurance IT firm SSP has acquired the Asia-Pacific business of Insure/90 from CSC Computer Sciences.
British-based SSP is a specialist IT provider to the insurance and financial services industries in 50 countries.
Some 14 insurers in Australia use the Insure/90 system. SSP has already taken on CSC’s Insure/90 systems business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
SSP Executive Chairman David Rasche says many Insure/90 users are upgrading systems and the purchase allows his company to provide them with more advanced technology.
SSP VP Asia Pacific Stephen Browne told insuranceNEWS.com.au the company wants to build on its regional market share, which he estimated to be between 10% and 20%.
“It’s a logical step forward, given the research and development invested in software,” he said. “We’re looking to gain traction globally.”
