Brisbane-based Lloyd’s underwriting agency SRS has boosted its Victorian professional risks business by poaching the entire underwriting team of niche agency Professional Risk Underwriting (ProRisk).

The move saw ProRisk Underwriting Manager Liz Peach move across to SRS as Underwriting Manager – Professional Risks. Accompanying her in the move from East Melbourne to the CBD were three underwriter colleagues.

SRS CEO Paul Lynam says the appointments will strengthen the company’s professional indemnity business and complement its Sydney professional risks team.

ProRisk has moved swiftly to deal with the loss, appointing industry veteran Gary Gribbin Underwriting Director and a four-person professional risks team.

“It’s an opportunity to rebirth the business,” he said. “Everyone’s at risk of losing expert staff, but in the long term I think it will actually improve our human resources.”
