Sports Underwriting Australia will add bowling, RSL and social clubs to the list of groups it covers after taking over Club Insure Australia Underwriting, better known as Clubinsure.

The Clubinsure brand will be retained and Calliden will continue to underwrite Clubinsure policies.

Sports Underwriting MD Steve Gilbert says while the company was already involved in underwriting golf clubs – which Clubinsure also covers – the other areas covered by their products represent new lines of business.

“There is real value in acquiring an underwriting authority for this line of business, particularly bowling, with the number of clubs there are in Australia,” Mr Gilbert told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “It’s a new area for us.”
