South African group launches real Australian product
One of South Africa’s largest general insurance groups, Hollard, is building its public awareness in Australia through its Real Insurance direct brand.
Hollard entered the Australian market in 1999, offering a range of wholesale products through established underwriting agencies and specialist intermediaries. It has also captured a slice of the home and contents market through affinity groups.
The company now insures more than 150,000 policyholders in Australia and has more than $2 billion worth of assets insured.
Real Insurance MD Richard Enthoven says research has shown consumers are confused by the terms of their cover “and find many details in their policy irrelevant”. Its new home and contents policy document is only 20 pages long.
Real Insurance is being launched through a major sponsorship deal with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, which will see the rugby league team renamed the “Real Rabbitohs”.
