Loss adjuster Sedgwick has named Derek Roberts as Chief Operating Officer for its Australia business, replacing Tracey Harris. 

Mr Roberts will oversee Sedgwick’s operations and service delivery to clients and customers across multiple lines of business, including claims management, property, professional services, workforce absence and compensation programs. 

“Derek has a strong customer focus and has been instrumental in driving positive transformation for a number of organisations,” Sedgwick CEO Australia Diego Ascani said. 

“Having him join the Sedgwick leadership team in Australia further strengthens our high performing operations as we continue to implement our strategic growth plans in the region.” 

Mr Roberts is a qualified chartered accountant and has held leadership roles in insurance organisations in Australia, Malaysia, South Africa, the UK and the US. 

In Australia he was Head of Short Tail Claims Direct Insurance with IAG from 2010 to 2014 and later became COO Direct Insurance, according to his LinkedIn.
