Salt Marine Risks Australia has opened a Melbourne office and appointed Richard Grant as the local representative and Marine Manager, Cargo.

Mr Grant joins from Chubb, where he spent almost 19 years overseeing the marine business.

“As an experienced and highly regarded marine underwriter, Richard will be able to significantly expand Salt’s involvement and service capability in the cargo space,” Head of Marine Australia Andrew Black said.

The Lloyd’s coverholder offers products encompassing cargo, commercial hull and liability.

Salt was formed from a merger of Dual Australia and Aviation & Marine Underwriting Agency in New Zealand.

Dual entered the marine market in 2015, establishing a presence in Australia, New Zealand the Pacific.
