Robinson retires from Centrepoint
Centrepoint Alliance CEO Tony Robinson has left the company, and is being replaced by former TAL CFO John de Zwart.
Mr Robinson was in the role for four years and was responsible for the acquisition of the Professional Investment Services dealer group in 2010.
The acquisition is now turning a profit – $3.8 million in the first half of this financial year – but the company is still facing a number of claims from clients under the previous ownership.
There was a contingency liability of $20.9 million for settling outstanding claims at December 31.
Centrepoint Chairman Rick Nelson last week praised Mr Robertson’s period as CEO, saying the organisation is “now well placed to take advantage of the improving economy and emerging growth in financial services markets”.
“The rebuilding of our reputation and relationship with all our stakeholders has to be the outstanding success story during this period.”
Mr Robinson was MD of IOOF from 2007 to 2009 and CEO of OAMPS Insurance Brokers from 2002 to 2007.
Mr de Zwart was CFO at TAL from 2005 until last year and previously held senior roles at AMP. He will start at Centrepoint next week.
