RACV awarded $3 million in IT case
RACV Insurance has won its lawsuit against IT company Unisys, and has been awarded $3 million in damages.
After five years, the Victorian Supreme Court found Unisys engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct in breach of the Trade Practices Act because it failed to deliver what it had promised.
RACV awarded the tender to Unisys on the understanding that it could store all claims and access online claims in less than four seconds. It sued Unisys when the new system failed to match its performance criteria.
